NOW TRENDING: It's a Long Story

Just in time for the highly-anticipated Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and the full calendar of holiday parties that await us this December, long hair has made a seriously sleek comeback. Everywhere we look, lobs and bobs of all different hair designs are magically transforming into sweeping, enviable lengths (thanks in large part to hair extensions and some skilled handy work by some of the top celebrity hair stylists and hair designers).

The most recent of these transformations came in the form of some shockingly long locks on the head of lob-loyalist, Jennifer Lawrence on the press tour for her new movie Passengers. After rocking a bob-to-lob length for the last few years, it was definitely an unexpected change up, but it’s one we’re totally here for. Finished with a stylish center part and effortless waves, this look is a classic and a bit of a throwback to old school (like, circa 2014) J-Law.

Last month, we also saw a flood of newly flowing locks strut down the red carpet at the American Music Awards. From Heidi Klum to Chrissy Teigen to Ariana Grande, the red carpet was showcasing some brand new extra long lengths. The style of choice for the night proved to be, super sleek stick straight strands that went down to there. This trend took many forms on the diverse group of ladies who flaunted the look.

Heidi Klum

Each impressively sweeping mane was styled with its own unique flair. Both Klum and Grande opted for polished ponies. Klum’s hair was styled in a sleek high ponytail secured at the crown with just the right amount of effortless construction to keep it from being too over styled. Grande wore her Rapunzel-length tresses in a super high pony accented with mini dutch braids from the hairline and finished with a piece of hair wrapped around the base. Teigen let her hair down for the night in a stick straight style finished with a sharp center part that gave us some serious retro vibes.

Chrissy Tiegan

As much as we’ve loved the chic choppy bobs and lobs that took over 2016, we’re so into these new lengths and ready to welcome back the long-hair-don’t-care days in 2017.
